To make the book i started with four piles of eight pages which were separated and coffee stained, once they had dried i folded the eight pages in half then opened them out and stapled them in two places, after this i paper clipped them together then put them aside for later. to create the hardback cover i needed to draw around my four sets of pages to get the shape then cut out the card twice for the front and back, during this time i also had to measure the spine of the book against my pages. then once i had the card i layed them out and used hot glue to secure them to the leather. i then cut out a thin piece of canvas that i then hot glue to the spin of my pages as this was to hold the together when joining them to the book. To finish i simply glued the canvas to the spine and covers. I then proceeded to print my edit out and stick them into my book skipping pages and gluing pages together to make it seem older than it is. by skipping pages i prepared them for burning.
The book itself turn out as i want it to and i'm very happy with what i was able to achieve, i feel that the way i was able to present it in way that reletes back to my subtheme of decay within urban/vertical structures and relates back to the photographers that i have investigated and study deeply, i wasnt able to burn the book due to there being no safe place that i could but i feel that burning the book would have that strengthen my point about destruction a decay and made an authentic abandon looking book. I also believe that the edits i chose are the strongest i have done for this project and show my journey from my starting point of vertical structures all they way through to decay. If i were to redo the process of making my book i would first stitch the pages instead of stapling purely for the fact that the staples dont seem strong enough and find a place that I could have gone to burn the book in a safe and controlled manner. I also wanted to be able to control how I burnt the book with would of been very hard to do.
